My very first visit to Sweden was over 10 years ago.
A trip to meet what would become my new Swedish family and a chance to get some proper snow – something I saw very little of living in the south of England.
I had been told repeatedly by my girlfriend, now wife, that I should not expect snow but it would certainly be cold; imagine my childlike delight to be presented with a blanket of snow covering the airport as we landed in Copenhagen and crossed the Öresund bridge into Malmö.
But snow wasn’t the only reason I enjoyed the visit, it was also the discovery of the “crisp” feeling that the more northern light offers to images, particularly as I prefer natural light to artificial; and once the snow cleared I was spoiled with amazing sunsets too.
